What is Nano-Hydroxyapatite?

Nano-Hydroxyapatite is the primary mineral teeth are made from, and is a non-toxic fluoride alternative that is 100% dog safe.

What is the particle size, concentration, and shape of the Nano-Hydroxyapatite in your toothpaste?

Our toothpaste contains rod-shaped Nano-HA particles, which have been found to be the safest particle shape.

The concentration in our toothpaste is 1-2 orders of magnitude below the most stringent safe concentration thresholds. While we can’t share the exact particle size, we have selected a particle size well within the range that ensures both efficacy and safety.

Is Nano-Hydroxyapatite safe if swallowed?

Yes. We use rod-shaped nano-hydroxyapatite, which is the same form studied and used safely in human dental care globally.

It is biocompatible, non-toxic, and safely excreted by the body, making it appropriate for daily oral care in dogs.

Can you provide the amount of each ingredient in Arterra Products?

We can't disclose the exact amounts of each ingredient to protect our proprietary formula.

We do list the total amount of each of our eight functional blends on our website, with ingredients in descending order of dose. Transparency is crucial to us, and if you have specific concerns about an ingredient, please contact us for more details.

All ingredient dosages are vet-approved and safe, generally higher than those in other veterinary supplements.

What does 50% active ingredients mean?

'Active' ingredients refer to the ingredients within each chew that contain a compound which has measurable effects on certain biological markers within the body. In a nutshell, it's the ingredients which produce a measurable positive effect within the body, be it on the joints, brain or other organs.

The industry average for active ingredients is 13% in a 3.5g chew. Arterra’s Adult formula contains 46% active ingredients in a larger, 5g chew, which means 5X the industry average, so your dog gets more of the good stuff!

The reason we can't have 100% is because there have to be some parts of the chew that help hold it together and make it both palatable and enjoyable for your dog!

Are your ingredients organic?

While not all ingredients in our formula are organic, this is primarily due to the specialized nature of components such as Magnesium L-Threonate, for which no organic versions are currently available globally. As a result, creating a fully organic certified version of Arterra is technically not feasible at this time.

However, we ensure the purity and safety of every batch through rigorous testing for heavy metals and microbiological contamination. Our herbal extracts are processed to minimize any pesticide and herbicide residues to negligible levels. Additionally, many of our whole food ingredients, such as mushroom fruiting bodies, are cultivated in greenhouses where the use of synthetic chemicals is significantly reduced.

Although Arterra is not certified organic, we guarantee that it meets stringent quality standards - standards so high, we confidently use the product for our own dogs.

Do Arterra supplements contain chicken or dairy?

No, Arterra's supplements do not contain chicken or dairy.

Do Arterra products contain any synthetic ingredients?

There are no synthetic ingredients in Arterra products.

Are there seed oils in your products?

No. We do not use seed oils in our formulas.

Our fat sources are intentionally selected for stability, bioavailability, and anti-inflammatory benefits.

Is this grain-free, gluten-free, or soy-free?

Yes. Our products are free from common unnecessary fillers, including gluten and soy.

We always encourage reviewing the full ingredient list if your dog has sensitivities, which can be found on each product page.

Is there caffeine in the green tea extract?

Our green tea extract contains a negligible amount of naturally occurring caffeine, typically 1 to 2 mg, which has been reviewed and approved by consulting veterinarians.

I thought cherry was toxic for dogs?

The main issue with cherries is the pits, steams and leaves; we use only the flesh of the cherry, which is safe and packed full of healthy goodness.
